As we head into conference season, we wanted to share something that perfectly captures the energy, excitement, and organized chaos we all know so well.
Bill White Jr. put it best in his creative take on the classic holiday poem—
’Twas the Friday before conference, and all through the firm,
Every broker was bustling, each task set to churn.
The deals were all pending, due diligence near,
With buyers and sellers demanding good cheer.
The inboxes flooded with questions galore,
While phones kept on ringing, then ringing some more.
And I in my office, and you at your desk,
Were juggling it all in a manner grotesque.
When out on LinkedIn there arose such a clatter,
I sprang to my screen to see what was the matter.
New posts were drafted with polish and flair,
Announcing our travels to sunshine and air.
“To Clearwater Beach!” the headlines all read,
With visions of learning and cocktails ahead.
We packed up our laptops, our suits crisp and neat,
Alongside our sandals and clothes for the heat.
Boarding passes checked and itineraries tight,
Each detail reviewed late into the night.
Auto-replies set with a professional tone,
“Limited access this week to email and phone.”
Yet under the chaos, excitement would grow,
For friends we see yearly, and knowledge we’ll sow.
From sessions and speakers to laughs by the shore,
We sharpen our skills and come back wanting more.
So finish those calls and tie up each deal,
Push through the madness that Friday can feel.
For soon we’ll be gathered, the best in the biz,
In a place full of sunshine, connection, and fizz.
Then off to the airport, with coffee in hand,
To join fellow brokers from across the land.
With a smile and a nod as we board every flight,
"Happy conference to all, and to all a great night!”
